Psssst… Top Secret

May 8, 2009

I recently participated in my first ever TVC for a major campagin to be launched around June/July. However due to confidentiality agreements, I am not allowed divulge any information or photographs from the filming. All I can say at this point in time is that it was an incredible experience to be a part of.

Dr Moose is a cool T-Shirt store I discovered recently (I bought a mad Home Star Runner/Che shirt from there). Not only do they have an awesome range of shirts and other apparel on offer, they also do custom tees. Their website has just launched, and I am very stoked to be listed as part of their Designer Network. So if you want me to design a custom tee for you or friends, just shoot me an email. A big thanks to Craig and the super awesome team at Dr Moose.

Design Competitions…

February 9, 2009

There are two design competitions I’m thinking about entering shortly. Both have very different messages. The first one i’m thinking of entering is the ” I <3 blogging ” contest. The objective is to design a laptop and Ipod ’skin’ with an ” i <3 blogging ” theme that will be sold in stores. I have never designed a ’skin’ before, so I’m looking forward to it. The added bonus of this contest is that I found out about a cool online store called “Infectious” that sell all sorts of Custom adhesive skins.

Infectious laptop design contest

The second competition I want to enter is slightly different in its message that it is tryin to get out.  Greenpeace are putting the call out for entries for a poster design competition. The winning entry could possibily be used in the Greenpeace campaign for the Asia/Pacific region. So there you go. Two different competitions, two different objectives… ahhhhhh the duality of man.

vraw

VRAW put on a competition to give $3000 to artists to further their dream careers ($1000 each to a musician, designer, or fashionista). I beat out 62 other hopefuls in the design category, so stay tuned, as the wheels are in motion to put the win to good use. Thanks again to VRAW and myspace.com.

Thread Exhibition Publicity

November 13, 2008

thread_publicity1

I somehow got my face in print as the thread exhibition received a mention on the back page of the 5000 copy publication of USC Community. We are hoping for a good turnout on opening night, and crossing our fingers the weather holds out

Promoting the Thread exhibition through the USC website. But I still don’t know how that handsome devil got in the photo…

Thread 2008 blog now live!

October 28, 2008

The thread blog is now live. It was created to give the USC design student exhibition a basic internet presence. Customised css was used and a big thankyou (aka mad props) goes out to Marc Bevan for helping out with the animation. Although it is basically just a microsite, it does its job of promoting the event, without giving too much away. More or less a bit of a teaser. As someone famous once said, “always leave ‘em wanting more”.

1st level will feature the latest news and happenings about the exhibition.

Secondary levels briefly feature the student exhibitors and their work, along with an exhibition information page
